Help Fight CP!
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a neurological condition that occurs during pregnancy or labor, or after birth,
damaging the central nervous system. CP affects 500,000 to 700,000 Americans. Peter Zeidner,
founder of Pedal-with-Pete, was born with CP, which has limited his ability to walk, use his hands and
speak. The organization’s goal is to raise funds for medical research to prevent, treat, and even reverse
the effects of CP.
Dear Friends,
For years, the PedalwithPete Foundation, dedicated to raising money for cerebral palsy research, has sponsored fund-raising bike rides in the Kent, Ohio area, and last year we hosted our second ride in Columbus. In October of 2003, with the combined total, we were able to present a check to Dr. Albright for $50,000. Thanks to the participation and generosity of people throughout Ohio, over $170,000 has been raised in support of these research efforts.
We’re all excited to build on our successes this year, and of course we’ve set our goals still higher. Many of you may know me from rides throughout the state, and I’m hoping you’ll come out to support our cause.
There are so many ways to participate; just your registration fee alone builds funds for research, and by gathering sponsorship dollars from your friends and contacts, you can really make a difference. You can also participate in the raffle for a great looking Specialized Bike!.
Our title is “Ride, for Pete’s Sake”, but really you will ride for the sake of many, many with CP, and for this, we thank you!
Peter O. Zeidner “Pete”
